Using Footage Studio

The service

Footage Studio is a small video editing studio. You send raw footage and a brief. We cut a video (and clips if you asked for them) and put the files on your project page. These terms apply when you start a project, create an account, or upload files.

Free for now

The service is free right now. No card, no subscription. That is not a promise it stays free forever. If we start charging, we will say so clearly first. We may decline a project, set a queue, or confirm timing before we start cutting. Turnaround is not guaranteed in these terms.

Your footage

You keep ownership of what you upload and of the finished edit we make from it, except for music, fonts, stock, or other third-party material that still belongs to its owners. You give us a limited license to store, transcode, download, and edit the files so we can deliver the project. We do not use your footage on the public site or in ads unless you agree.

What you may not upload

Do not send anything you do not have the right to use, anything illegal, or anything that exploits a minor. We can refuse or delete a project that breaks that rule.

Accounts and guests

You can start without an account. Guest projects live in that browser until you sign up or lose the session. An account keeps projects, uploads, and downloads in one place. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.

The edit

Editing is a human judgment call. We aim to match the style and length you picked, and we confirm timing before we start. We do not promise a specific number of revisions, a platform-ready viral clip, or that a finished file will meet a third party's rules (YouTube, TikTok, a wedding venue, and so on).

Liability

The site and the editing are provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, Footage Studio is not liable for lost files, missed posting dates, or indirect damages. If something goes wrong with an upload, tell us and we will try to help you send it again.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Privacy details live on the privacy page. To start a project, send footage.
